Oxshott kicked off the new season with a point from a hard-fought game that, with a little more luck, they could have won.
The home side dominated the early stages of the first half but as the half progressed Spelthorne began to come more into the game.
Both sides had a number of chances after the break but it was Oxshott who slightly shaded it as far as both possession and goal-scoring opportunities were concerned.
Missing their two recognised strikers, however, the home side just couldn’t convert their chances and, despite a final 10 minutes that saw Oxshott dominate play, they failed to break the deadlock.
Man of the match was keeper Frazer, who looked assured and in command at all times.
